Legislative and Governmental Affairs Update – May 2021

The 2021 Legislature has finished its business for Session. With 3,140 bills filed, and only 275 bills passed, the legislative session was one for the history books both in terms of the policies addressed and the budgetary challenges met. Unlike the Legislative Session of 2020 that finished before the pandemic impacted Florida, the 2021 Session was pandemic-focused with COVID protocols, legislation, and budget issues, all directed toward making changes that would speed economic recovery and prepare Florida for future states of emergency.
